ABOUT ME:

I’m Liam Harrison, Bolton born and bred. I’m a lover of Golf, life and laughter.

Started Golf 12 years ago after packing in football when i was 28 due to a back injury.

I started the Youtube channel as a laugh and a Wim, to make me practice but that went out the window as i started vlogging, loving being on camera but more so the interaction with my #golfmates.

In 14 months i have seen the channel evolve and become the only real golf community on Youtube which i am extremly proud of.

I would like to thank all the #golfmates that have been with us and supported us and the channel from the start. Also not forgetting our new #golfmates that may have only just come across the channel.

  1. I use a green/orange castle tee for irons/hybrid. Red castle tee for 3 wood and pink for driver which sets ball at same height each time but I think its whatever you’re comfortable with in yourself either way

    1. I agree. Liam has compensated – tee is not flicking out when he hits the ball, so swing is slightly higher, meaning he is hitting the ball right each time. I don’t use tees with irons or fairway woods. Only play what you practice. I never see anyone practising short irons off a tee on the driving range.

    2. @Steve S funny you say that, my cousin was trying to hit his 3 wood off the tee and kept skying the ball, I told him to try it off the deck and the next 10 shots were fantastic.

  2. I struggle to take a divot consistently after the ball. For me I feel far more confident using the red castle tee, at least I’m not going to duff it so often. Still putting my cards in for the 28 handicap mind!

  3. Interesting trial. I was always taught to give myself, what would be on the fairway, a perfect lie. Hence, with an iron, low tee. Maybe, with a fairway wood, 1/4 – 1/2”’ above the deck would encourage a sweeping action.

  4. Thx golf mate will be trying this def !! I normally never use a tee on shorter irons .. def sounded like you were hitting the sweet spot with the med tee

  5. Liam the only time ya can tee ya ball up is on the teeing area, rest of the game you have to play it off the deck
Par 3’s or short par 4’s got ta be off the deck or at grass height,or maybe that’s just me

  6. Hi Liam, I think you’ve answered your own question. Despite being a high handicapper at the moment , short game woes, last round 3 X 3 putts turning birdie into bogie but that’s another story. I use my tee hight from low to mid as a length adjuster, I know roughly how far my irons go, often par threes are between clubs I’m not good enough to take anything off my swing so I tee the ball up a bit. As for putting I’m thinking of going left handed to putt I line them up better.
